The Cross Bearer
”Tom Kristensen knows how to tell a thrilling story.” Torbjørn Ekelund, Dagbladet
Elvira Elton Eikenes is a bank manager in Oslo. One of her major clients, an oil company, is in danger of defaulting on a huge loan. Her boss begins to question her ability to deal with the affair, and rumours circulating of drug abuse do nothing to improve Elvira’s situation. Elvira’s previous boss – and secret lover – David Nomura, has in recent years built up a hedge fund in San Francisco. But the notorious Japanese mafia, has given him only three weeks to come up with forty million dollars, and his company is about to go bankrupt. David sees only one solution to obtain the money swiftly enough: he must travel to Oslo and make full use of his relationship with Elvira. However, the Cross Bearer also arrives in Oslo, with his own agenda: he is planning to make use of both David and Elvira.
