Homeland. Childood is the story of a little boy who grows up in the Northwest of Norway in the 1950s: Edvard is the oldest boy and destined to take over the farm. His father is an emissary, travelling around spreading the word of God for long parts of the year, while his mother struggles at home. The expectation that Edvard will take over the farm, weighs heavily on his shoulders.
With sincere love for both people and place, Hoem portrays a long gone time, and produces images that will remain standing in Norwegian literature.
