Helene Flood (b 1982) is the author of several internationally bestselling thrillers. Her debut,The Therapist, has been sold in 30 territories, topped bestseller charts, and earned numerous awards and nominations. Its acclaimed follow-ups, The Lover (2021) and The Widow (2023), have also been published in numerous languages.

In 2023 Flood published her first book for children, The Silver Sparkling Island, which was nominated for the ARK Children’s Book  Award. The second and third book in what will eventually be a quartet, were published in 2024 and 2025 respectively, The House that Whispers in the Night and The Mountain that Glows in the Dark.

Flood is a psychologist with a PhD degree and works as a psychologist and researcher at the National Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress. She lives in Oslo, Norway.
