We Must Remember This
It’s the mid-1970s, and Filip is part of a close-knit gang of boys in southern Oslo. Bound by a strict code of honour, where a boy is a boy and a word is a word, they have their heyday, right in the transition between childhood and adolescence. Unspoken but unbreakable agreements are made based on principles of justice and loyalty, and what happens on the way to school and out in the forest is nobody else’s business. Later in life, the five of them will lose touch, and perhaps their principles will also fall by the wayside. But where the box with the vital little things is buried – that’s something they won’t forget.
We Must Remember This is a novel characterised by exuberant storytelling and vivid prose.
