Arne was Aina Villanger’s uncle. In 1968 he took his own life. He left behind a dream diary, which this book is built on, together with excerpts from patient journals, letters, and a few short observations he published in a local newspaper.
1969 was also the year man conquered the moon. In Uncle Arne and the Moon, the moon voyage is linked with Arne’s final hours, and the dream of the moon gives the banal, pitch black death a luminescent flight.
