They come on snow scooters and huge ATVs, people in groups of three or four. In a place like this, on an evening like this, you don’t care what you’re wearing as long as it’s warm. Fur. A lot of fur. Mink is a local speciality. And wool and leather and big boots. Everyone has their knives on display where they are easily accessible – men, women and children.
The paparazzo Frank and the pessimistic poet Øen are holding a private viewing at the art gallery in Nissedal. Everyone in the village comes along except for the Jarnvold family, who govern most of what happens in the area. Because something else is brewing out in the cold winter night, and when Frank and Øen hear gunfire, they decide to run.
