In Here Somewhere

Is it our ideas and perceptions that determine who we are? What happens when the body is perceived as a threat to our self-understanding, instead of being part of it? And how far are we willing to go to maintain control? The need for self-control and the desire for closeness coexist in this short story collection. Often, the characters’ tendency to observe and withdraw becomes stronger than the urge for intimacy and love. Not because love doesn’t exist, but because the idea of how everything should have been overshadows the values of what is. Roskva Koritzinsky manages to describe both young and old, men and women, with psychological insight.
