Marianne is 22 years old and has just started working as a journalist in the local newspaper. The year is 1965. The Americans are bombing Vietnam, and Marianne feels that nothing can be more important to write about. The editor, however, sends her out to report on the vegetable prices at the local market, this year’s strawberry harvest and life at the camp site. A half-forgotten actor she interviews also voices his opinions on how she should exploit her writing talent.
