Nina E. Grøntvedt (b. 1979) has a bachelor’s degree in illustration from Southampton Solent University, England. She has studied creative writing and literature at the Norwegian Institute for Children’s Books, and also graphic design

Since 2009, Grøntvedt has been writing full-time. She travels a lot, visiting school children and performing at book fairs and literary festivals in Norway, as well as abroad. In the last years she has met many of her readers (of all ages) in Norway, Germany, Russia, Sweden and the Ukraine.

Grøntvedt achieved her international breakthrough with the novel Hey it’s me!. This fictional diary has been compared to the Diaries of Adrian Mole, and is somewhat similar in layout to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the Dork Diaries, although Grøntvedt’s novel gives the impression that the story is actually written, told and illustrated by the protagonist of the story herself, a 12-year-old Norwegian girl.
