Winner of the NRK Listeners’ Novel Prize 2023

Leander Djønne (b. 1981) is an artist, teacher, and farmer from the Hardanger fjord. His first novel, The Ash Spiral (2022), was hailed by critics and won the Listeners’ Novel Prize. In 2025 he was awarded the Oktober Prize, given to a a “younger, significant writer who has demonstrated particular literary courage”. His second novel, Eat All (2025) won Norway’s national book award, the Brage Prize.
