Ivo de Figueiredo
Ivo de Figueiredo (b. 1966) is a historian, author and critic. He is considered one of Norway’s most prominent non-fiction writers and has contributed to the recognition of the literary value and importance of non-fiction. de Figueiredo has written the biography of Henrik Ibsen, Henrik Ibsen. The Man and the Mask, one of the world’s most performed playwrights. His two-volume biography The Storm – A Biography of Edvard Munch is a definitive guide to the famous painter Munch. Ivo de Figueiredo’s biographical method combines an immersion in the main character’s thoughts and feelings that borders on fiction with a broad portrait of a historical era.
