Ingrid Z. Aanestad was born in 1983. She made her debut with the novel Today Is a Beautiful Day, and has since published a string of beautiful novels, quiet in tone, but powerful in impact.

In 2010 she received Forlaget Oktober’s Anniversary Grant, and in 2012 she won the Rogaland Literature Grant.
