Ingrid Storholmen debuted in 2001 with the poetry collection Poaching Law and received great attention for this and her subsequent collections.
Storholmen’s first prose book, Chernobyl Stories (2009), received excellent reviews, and she was nominated for the Brage Prize, the Critics’ Prize, and the prestigious IMPAC Dublin Literary Award 2015. The book has been translated into English, Hindi, French, and Estonian, among other languages.
Here Lay Tirpitz (2014), her second novel was nominated for the P2 Listeners’ Novel Prize and, in 2025, for the Dublin Literary Award. The novel Stamen was published in 2020. In 2024, her genre crossing prose book Spelling of Blood was published to great acclaim.
Ingrid Storholmen has been awarded the Hunger Prize 2010, the Booksellers’ Author Grant 2010, the Ole Vig Prize 2010, the Tanum Women’s Scholarship 2011, and the Verdal Municipality’s Cultural Prize 2018.
