Ingar Johnsrud (b. 1974) worked as a crime journalist and a feature journalist before making a sensational debut with the thriller The Vienna Brotherhood (2015). Both this and the subsequent books of the Fredrik Beier trilogy, Calypso (2016) and The Cross (2018), were met with great acclaim and rights were sold in 20 territories. In 2020 he published the freestanding crime novel The Godmother. Patriots is the first of a new thriller trilogy.
