A Norwegian student is abducted in Edinburgh and found almost lifeless in the river a day later. The young woman Amandeep is the niece of Kripos investigator Harinder Singh, and he travels to Scotland to help the family.

Even though he travels as a private person, he quickly becomes involved in the investigation. A little too much if you ask the Scottish police. He does not follow instructions and goes his own way in the hunt for the perpetrators.

Harinder’s colleague Rachel Hauge finds a connection between the abduction in Edinburgh and a murder in Oslo six months earlier. It leads both her and Harinder on a collision course with two infamous twin brothers who control their share of the drug traffic in the city.
