The Girl Who Wanted to Save the Books

Lisa Aisato, Klaus Hagerup

When you love to read!

Anna is nearly 10 years old and loves to read. She loves reading so much that one of her best friends is the librarian, Monsen. Even though Monsen is over 40 years old! One day Monsen tells Anna what happens to the books no one wants to borrow from the library. They disappear. They are destroyed. But what happens to all those who live inside these books? Do they disappear too? This is just too much to bear, Anna thinks. She has to save the books! But how?

A charming, poetic and magical story about the special love for all those who live inside the books, written by one of Norway’s most established and award winning authors, beautifully illustrated with Lisa Aisato’s magical and unique drawing style.

“… specific and exciting for children, nifty and humorous for adults. Not many manage that balance.”
Dagbladet, 5 out of 6 stars

… magical and poetic… the book has a serious message and lots of charm.”
