The year is 1186. The era of the Middle Ages and the crusades. Young Stefan is on board a ship. On his way to the Holy Land. Shortly after, the boat is attacked by pirates.
The Crusaders is a five-book epic tale with historical events and persons as its point of departure. The reader gets to know Stefan, a young pilgrim who goes off on a crusade along with his Frankish family. The books show both the Christian and Muslim side of the conflict, giving the reader a colourful and exciting insight into the cultural and historical events of a unique era.
The book series is illustrated by Elin Marie Bugge. She was born in the year of the horse and works as an illustrator and animator. One of her clients is the computer firm behind the computer game “Conan the Barbarian”.
